자유를 주장하는 사람은

자기 자신에게

구속돼 있는 것을 알지 못한다.

자유를 모르기 때문이다.

 

밤이 이렇게 가고 있다.

싸아 소리를 내며 지나가고 있다.

시간이 있다고 믿는 사람은

자유를 논할 자격이 없다.

 

죽음을 인식하는 사람도

결코 자유롭지는 못하다.

자유는 미사여구에 불과하며

자유는 자기기만 이외 아무것도 아니다.

Those who advocate for freedom

do not realize that they are bound

to themselves.

It is because they do not know freedom.

 

The night is passing like this,

rushing by with a chilly sound.

Those who believe there is time

have no right to discuss freedom.

 

Even those who are aware of death

are by no means free.

Freedom is nothing more than fine rhetoric,

and freedom is nothing other than self-deception.
