우리라는 말은

                            홍수희


얼마나 다정한가
´우리´라는 말
그보다 따뜻한 말
나는 알지 못하네

눈이 맑은 그대
얼굴 바라볼 때에
외로웁지 않겠네
우리 함께 한다면

너와 내가 혼자
서 있을 때엔
빙산처럼 차가웠던
잿빛 슬픔도

´우리´라는 말 앞에선
봄눈 속의 아지랑이
없던 용기 불쑥
솟아오르네

얼마나 아름다운가
´우리´라는 말
그보다 사랑스런
몸짓 알지 못하네

아무리 험한 세상
거센 비바람에도
두려울 것 없겠네
우리 함께 간다면

혼자서는 완성되지
않는 그 말이
너와 내가 노래하며
다정히 손잡을 때에

눈부시게 웃으며
피어난다네
불꽃보다 뜨거워라
´우리´라는 말

How tender it is, the word "we."

A word warmer than that I do not know.

When I gaze upon your clear-eyed face,

I shall not be lonely if we are together.

When you and I stood alone, even the gray sorrow, cold as an iceberg,

Turns to a shimmer in the spring snow before the word "we."

Courage, once absent, suddenly surges forth.

How beautiful it is, the word "we."

A lovelier gesture than that I do not know.

No matter how harsh the world, through violent wind and rain,

there would be nothing to fear if we go together.

A word that cannot be completed alone—

when you and I sing and tenderly hold hands,

It blooms with a dazzling smile.

Hotter than a flame, the word "we."
