8월의 소망

 

                      오광수

한줄기 시원한 소나기가 반가운 8월엔
소나기 같은 사람을 만나고 싶다
만나면 그렇게 반가운 얼굴이 되고
만나면 시원한 대화에 흠뻑 젖어버리는
우리의 모습이면 얼마나 좋으랴?

푸름이 하늘까지 차고 넘치는 8월에
호젓이 붉은 나무 백일홍 밑에 누우면
바람이 와서 나를 간지럽게 하는가
아님 꽃잎으로 다가온 여인의 향기인가
붉은 입술의 키스는 얼마나 달콤하랴?

8월엔 꿈이어도 좋다.
아리온의 하프소리를 듣고 찾아온 돌고래같이
그리워 부르는 노래를 듣고
보고픈 그 님이 백조를 타고
먼먼 밤하늘을 가로질러 찾아왔으면.

August Wish

In August, when a cool shower is so welcome,
I want to meet someone like that refreshing rain.
Someone whose face lights up with such joy upon meeting,
someone with whom we'd be drenched in cool conversation—
how wonderful that would be!

 

In August, when verdant green overflows to the sky,
lying quietly beneath the red zinnia elegans,
is it the wind that comes to tickle me,
or the fragrance of a woman approaching like flower petals?
How sweet would be the kiss of those red lips?

 

In August, even dreams would be good.
Like dolphins that came upon hearing Arion's harp,
if only my beloved, hearing the song I sing in longing,
would ride a swan across the distant night sky
and come to me.
