민들레

                              이해인


은밀히 감겨간 생각의 실타래를
밖으로 풀어내긴 어쩐지 허전해서
차라리 입을 다문 노란 민들레

앉은뱅이 몸으로는 갈 길이 멀어
하얗게 머리 풀고 솜털 날리면
춤추는 나비들도 길 비켜 가네

꽃씨만한 행복을 이마에 얹고
바람한테 준 마음 후회 없어라
혼자서 생각하다 혼자서 별을 헤다
땅에서 하늘에서 다시 피는 민들레

Dandelion

Unwinding the spool of thoughts wrapped in secret

feels somehow empty,

so the yellow dandelion chooses to keep its mouth shut.

 

With a low-to-the-ground body, the way is far;

so it loosens its white hair and scatters its down,

and even dancing butterflies clear the path.

 

With happiness the size of a flower seed placed on its forehead,

it has no regrets for the heart it gave to the wind.

Thinking alone, counting stars alone,

the dandelion blooms again from the earth and from the sky.
