아름다운 모퉁이에 관하여

모퉁이가 아름다운 건물을 보면

사람도 모름지기 모퉁이가 아름다워야

아름다운

입체물이 될 수 있다는 생각이 든다.

향기로운

내부를 가질 수 있다는 생각이 든다.

모퉁이가 둥근 말, 모퉁이가 귀여운 사랑

이들에게는

한결같이 모난 부분을 둥그렇게 구부린 흔적이

바라보는 사람을 황홀하게 한다.

나는 이 아름다운 옆구리를 한번 돌아가보면서

모퉁이란 함부로 다루어서는 안 될

건물의 중요한 한 분야라는 생각을 하게 된다.

내부까지 품위 있게 해주는

의식의 요긴한 한 얼굴이라는 생각을 하게 된다.

모퉁이를 가꾸는 사람들......

경제학적으로 검토하면 비효율적 투자이겠지만

모두가 모퉁이를 가꾸지 않는다면

우리들은 또 어디를 돌아가보고 살아야 하나?

향기로운 넓이와 높이를 가진 입체물들을

어디에서 찾아야 하나?

On Beautiful Corners

When I see a building with beautiful corners,

I think that a person, too, must have beautiful corners

To become a beautiful

Three-dimensional being.

I feel they can hold

A fragrant interior.

Rounded words, adorable love—

In them,

The consistent trace of curving sharp edges into circles

Enchants those who look upon them.

Walking around these beautiful flanks,

I come to realize that a corner is a vital part of a structure

That must not be treated carelessly.

I realize it is a crucial face of consciousness

That bestows dignity even upon the inside.

Those who cultivate their corners...

Economically, it might be an inefficient investment,

But if no one cared for their corners,

Where else would we turn to find our way in life?

Where would we find three-dimensional beings

With fragrant width and height?
